University and Apprenticeship Preparation
At our Sixth Form, students begin preparing for university as early as the Autumn term of Year 12. They are introduced to various university options and guided through the UCAS application process. Students learn how to research courses effectively, evaluate their current academic progress, and develop strategies to improve their predicted grades where necessary, using Unifrog, an online platform that helps students compare university courses, apprenticeships and Further Education courses.
For students applying to medicine or healthcare-related fields, we offer tailored support, including university-led lectures, work experience placements, and volunteering opportunities in relevant contexts. We organize a variety of trips to universities and aim to help students cultivate a deep passion and commitment to their chosen subjects.
All students receive individualized support from the Harris Federation Careers Team, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future educational journeys. Additionally, high-achieving students are enrolled in the Harris Experience Advanced Programme, providing extra opportunities to extend and enrich their learning experience.
