Westminster Girls Indoor Cricket Finals
Today 8 year 7/8 girls competed in the Westminster School’s Girls Indoor Cricket Tournament against 7 other schools. They have been working hard at Cricket club so far this year and it was good for them get a chance to put what they have been learning into practice. The first game was a nail-biter with our girls managing to score 3 runs off the last ball to tie the game! Unfortunately, they were unable to add to their heroic efforts from the first game coming up against 2 very good schools in their next matches. The girls should hold their heads high though as for some this was their first competitive Cricket tournament ever. Their behaviour, sportsmanship and character they showed throughout the day was fantastic even when playing strong opponents. A special mention to Maiama Fasuluku (Yr7) who bowled, batted and fielded extremely well and lead by example both on and off the field.
